Robert Gunner, potter of Frimley, died 1637

page in preparation by Peter Tipton, Feb 2008

Robert Gunner is the only member of his family living in the Blackwater Valley to have his occupation as a potter recorded in a 17th century will. However the Gunner family intermarried with several of the main families involved in Borderware pottery production, so it is very possible that other Gunners were also potters, but we have not yet found surviving records. I have attempted to reconstruct several branches of the Gunner family of Frimley and Farnborough in order to work out who were Robert's parents and grandparents, their relationships with other potter families, and to try to find other members of the family who might have been involved with the local potteries.

I have put this research on a separate Gunner Family page
