The paperwork produced by mediaeval manors is a class of records often overlooked by researchers. This is a pity since records exist for Yateley and Hawley from the earliest times until after the second world war. Although Cove and Farnborough Manors were within the Hundred of Crondall, they were not manors held directly by the Dean & Chapter of Winchester, nor by the Bishop of Winchester who held nearby manors. Finding complete runs of manorial records for Farnborough and Cove is therefore more problematic. However records do exist and we intend to research them.
