1 In the name of God Amen December

2 the one and twentieth in the yeare of our Lord One Thousand & Six hundred

3 fifty fower I Richard Trigg of Hawley in the parish of Yately in the County of Southampton

4 Potter beinge sick in body but of sound and perfect memory doe make and

5 ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme followinge That is to say

6 first I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God who gave the same and

7 my body to the Earth from Whence it Came Item I give and bequeath unto mr sonne

8 John Trigg the sume of fiveteene pounds of lawfull English money beinge the

9 one Moyety of thirty pounds the which by brother John Trigg is to pay mee within

10 seavon yeares after the decease of John Trigg the elder my father beinge att this

11 Instant livinge And my will is that my lovinge wife Joane Trigg shall have the

12 other fiveteene pounds remainder of the said thirty pounds And if it shall ### (?)

13 on that my siad sonne shall happen to departe this life before

14 shall decease his legacy bequeathed as above said then my will i that my brother

15 John Trigg shall have tenne pounds of the said fiveteene and the other five

16 pounds my will is that my said lovinge wife shall have for and towards the

17 Nurcuringe ###### (as in text) and bringinge up of my sonne And as for the remain

18 der of all my goods and Chattells yett unbequeathed my debts and funerall expenses

19 beinge first payd and discharged I give and bequeath unto my said lovinge wife

20 Joane Trigge whome I doe by these presents make and ordaine my sole Executrix

21 of this my (abbreviation for afforesaid?) last will and Testament Item I make my loving freinds Lawrence

22 Watts and Gilbert Powlson both of Hawley aforesaid gent Overseers of this afore

23 said last will and Testament Intreating them to be aydinge and assistinge

24 of (?) my said Executrix in the true performance of this my last will and Testament

25 Item I give and bequeath unto my said Overseers three shillings fower pence appeece

26 In Wittnesse whereof I the said Richard Trigg have hereunto sett my hand and

27 seale the day and yeare first above written / Richard Trigge his marke

 

28 Published and declared to be the last will and Testament of the said Richard Trigge

29 in the presence of us John Trigge the elder his marke Lawrence Watts

 

30 This will was proved att London the Eighteenth day of January In the yeare

31 of our Lord God One Thousand Six hundred fifty and five Before the Judges for

32 probate wills and grantinge Administrations lawfullyauthorised by the Oath

33 of Joane Trigg the relict sole Executrix named in the said will to whome Administration of

34 all and singular the goods and Chattells and debts of the said deceased was Committed

35 She beinge first by Commission sworne truly to Administer the same
